TO SUBMIT AN ARTICLE TO SOUNDWAVES

Though much of our copy comes from regular contributors we do welcome unsolicited copy. The editors reserve the right to use or not use all articles, to edit for length, content and style so that the goals of the association and the Soundwaves publication are promoted. In general, articles which identify current issues in the field of Physical Therapy, or which show innovation, creativity or success in problem-solving and are written from the member’s perspective (not their business’ perspective) are more likely to be considered.

• Standard article information includes the title, your name and the body of your article or information

• You may submit in Microsoft Word or in an email message

• In Microsoft Word, please use 11-point Times New Roman as your font. Keep the text left-justified

• Identify bullets with a double hyphen, like [--]

• Do NOT format the text in either email or Microsoft Word. This means: No bold, italics, assorted fonts or font sizes. No WordArt

• No clip art in the article. (If you have clipart you wish to use in your article you must send it separately from your article)

• Articles should be no longer than 300 words, roughly one page of 11pt text. Editors are available to help you refine your article

• Keep your virus software updated

• Pictures are welcomed. Black/white and color are both fine. Digital files are preferred over prints; please make sure your files are of the highest resolution possible

All articles are reviewed for clarity of thought and length. While the editors reserve the right to edit as needed we also hope to contact you when major changes are needed in your article. Editing for length is a common necessity. Having access to email facilitates this process. Creating a pleasing, professional publication means the editors will evaluate and ‘tweak’ all material in an issue so this goal is achieved.
