State Government Affairs Committee

Committee Co-chairs

 Anne Johnson and Kathleen Picard

Purpose

The MN APTA State Government Affairs Committee advocates on behalf of the physical therapy profession and for PT patients at the state level, by monitoring and directing legislative efforts that may impact physical therapy or the individuals we serve. This page provides information for PTs and PTAs about legislation on the National and State level, as well as important Federal and Private payment issues that arise. The committee does not meet, but members work closely with the MN APTA Board of Directors, lobbyists, and the APTA State Government Affairs department to follow MN state legislation, shape the chapter’s position on legislative issues and build relationships with MN policy makers, while also informing our members of policy changes that may impact the way we practice physical therapy in the state of Minnesota.
